Further to recently being crowned as the nascent purveyors of crushingly epic doomstep by the august institution of poorly researched lists known as NME, our friends in Canada the Jokers Of The Scene seem to be settling into life as the go to producers for intricate and multifaceted remixes.
The quasi futuristic hip hop duo Auburn – apparently mentioned in the same breath as hype magnets Odd Future by some excitable journalist earlier this year – are the latest to benefit from the Jokers Of The Scene midas touch with their Company Flow-esque ode to contemporary porch additions “Ultramodern Verandahs” getting this drastic revision from the Toronto duo.
Across the seven and a half minutes that make up the remix, the erstwhile doomsteppers slip between icy cinematic expanses, neatly twisting 808 deviations and sub heavy grave wave with aplomb.
Box Of Milk will release Ultramodern Verandahs by Auburn with the above JOTS remix accompanied by a further effort from T & B alumni Willy Joy on August 26.
